This paper illuminates the performance and the method of secondary development of software CATIA, and generalizes the parametric design methods of parts modeling based on CATIA. This paper gives optical path schematic, detailedly introduces the performances and the effects of optical elements in optical system, and designs fixtures of these optical elements. The implementing method of the parametric design of the whole product is put forward. Based on the method, the work procedure is given. This paper describes transitive relationship between principal and secondary parameters associated with outline dimension of optical receiving-transmitting box. This paper realizes the parametric design of the character model for optical receiving-transmitting box on the general CAD software. At last, parts structure of optical receiving-transmitting box can be automatically assembled by virtual assembly technology. This design software improves the efficiency of structural design and provides a basis for subsequence analysis or optimization.
