The virtual prototype technology is a king of new design method which used digital method and computer simulation technology to build 3D digital model of product and simulate the actual product. We could get our last blue print at the first time though virtual prototype technology in the process of R&D.The application of virtual prototype technology to develop the products of motorcycle is the effective way to increase the abilities of technology innovation and development on our own technology through using the experience for reference, assimilation and absorbing the foreign advanced manufacture technology. With the help of virtual prototype technology, during the phase of product design of motorcycle, those performances, which are kinematics, dynamics, strength, stiffness, vibration characteristics, can be proceeded to simulate. Therefore the overall performances are matched and the products are optimized integrally. Consequently it is of great importance to study the virtual prototype technology of motorcycle to shorten the development cycle of product, lower production cost, improve the quality of design and increase the ability of market competition.The dissertation is supported by the project about motorcycle and has researched a certain number of key problems of virtual prototyping of motorcycle, the main content as follows:1. The structure of virtual prototyping design system had been researched systematically. The virtual prototyping system of motorcycle had been established basis on virtual prototyping modeling. Also the dissertation had presented that the key technologies to the development of virtual prototyping.2. According to the characteristic of the motorcycle cover, discussed the CAD technologies for building digital model of motorcycle cover, and concluded the methods for building digital model of motorcycle cover and adduced an example.3. Bring forward the method of parameter feature modeling of key parts of motorcycle and established the parameter frame of motorcycle. This work is the basis CAD model reusing.4. Established the concrete virtual prototyping of motorcycle for the concrete problem of analysis. It is foundation of virtual analysis.5. Analyze the characteristics of vibration of motorcycle, discuss the infection of some parameters related to vibration, and utilize the method of mode energydiscussing the characteristics which affect the comfortable of motorcycle, and put forward the advice of improvement.
