Systematic Design Of Community Walking Space

In the city populated communities, the formation of the walking space system is influenced by all kinds of factors. At the same time it is stabilized by the main outer characters, which are induced to form by all sorts of interweaving forces. It profoundly affects the inner structural function of populated communities, together with the reorganizations to the populated regions by the residents. If the public walking environments can be improved greatly, people's walking movement will be increased, concomitantly. What also can be increased are the communities' comfort, friendliness and adaptation. Accordingly, how to construct a favorable walking environment will be one of the crucial issues for communities' construction.In this thesis, the populated communities walking space will be studied as a whole, applying systematic approaches to discuss the theoretical frames of analysis and design about how to establish the outer space of populated regions. After analyzing systematic components, level organizing, and conformity, three levels for communities walking space design were brought forward, traffic, views, and buildings. Based on this, a systematic design frame was set up, and under the instruction of this frame, a community walking system was also constructed from the part to the whole. A series of feasible methods and strategies were discussed, and further, an instructive approach to systematic design of community walking space was brought forward. Finally, by analyzing the representative examples in our country, the support for systematic design and construction about community walking space was achieved.
