Urban transport problems are more and more serious in our country, and the efficient way to solve them is developing public transport greatly and raising the proportion of trip by bus. For the bus dispatching is vital for public transport management, we can conclude that research on bus dispatching optimization methods is very important to improve the quality of bus dispatching management and to enhance the attraction of trip by bus.Considering the characteristics of our public transport system, this paper presents the frame of bus dispatching system and analyses the supporting technology of intelligent bus dispatching system.The accuracy passengers' data is the base of bus dispatching. The paper induces the contents and methods of investigating passengers' data, researches passenger countering on footplate based on acceleration, dealings with the data by "move" with time and eliminates the variances of adjacent data by cubic spline interpolation, then obtains the passengers' arrival rate, get off rate and throughput in the whole period by programming, which gives pursuant to dispatching.Vehicle line dispatching is the base mode in bus dispatching. This paper presents a mathematical model with dispatching time as variable. The model aims at the minimum of passengers' waiting time and the maximum of bus company' income, and subjects to the maximum and minimum dispatching interval, the difference value of adjacent interval, the full-load rate and the capacity of vehicle. Then genetic algorithm is developed to solve the problem, and a nonuniform timetable is obtained by programming with matlab. The model is proved to be useful by being applied in Hefei.Interline dispatching is widely used in many cities of developed county, which will be a trend in the future in china cities. Not changing the dispatching frequency of each line, the paper addresses the problem of generating timetable for the given network. It attempts to maximize synchronization of the network, which enables the transfer of passengers with minimum waiting time at the transfer nodes.Driver scheduling is an important operation in bus dispatching. A heuristic approach in two steps is developed to analyze the problem and generate the driver schedule, which provides the minimum number of drivers to fulfill the bus dispatching.
