In order to study the aseismatic behavior of the joints of space steel truss and RC. tubal column, three joints, on the basis of the Air Cooled Condenser system of a main thermal power plant ,have been tested under cycling-load.In the experiment, vertical steady load and horizontal reciprocate load were exerted to the joints. Damages first came out from some weak zones of H profiled bar joints such as weld seams and bolt joints, because rigid joints did not show enough tensibility under cyclic load. On the contrary, the tensibility of hinge joints was good, but the bolt joints of H profiled bar with load destroyed firstly.The indications of experimental outcome are as follows: first, the hysteretic behavior of hinge joints is better than that of the rigid joints, secondly less rigid joints can engender greater plastic deformation and thirdly, the attaching types and qualities of the weld beam and bolt have great effect on the performance of joints. By the results of experimental research, the hysteretic curve, framework curve, tensibility and energy-depleted coefficient of the joints are researched in a low-cycle and reverse horizontal loading test. Furthermore, the computing and designing methods of different joints are put forward. At the end of this paper, suggestions on design and fabrication based on the experimental results are presented.
