In this paper, the simi—infinite elastic subgrade is supposed as 8—node and 3—D finite element and 8—node and 3—D infinite element, Programs of finite—infinite element coupling method with MATLAB are worked out and they are applied for analyzing the static and dynamic properties of elastic subgrade.The finite—infinite coupling analysis method's math principle, model ing method and computation method are introduced, the shape functions, mapping functions and displacement functions of 8—node and 3—D finite element and 8—node and 3—D infinite element are present, Programs of finite—infinite element coupling method with MATLAB are worked out and they are applied to calculate the displacement of elastic subgrade under different loads.As the introduce of infinite element, the calculation and accuracy have greatly improved then only using finite element method. The solution to elastic foundation and the answers in this paper puts forward the study to elastic foundation theory, and they have important guide meanings to the designs and constructions etc. of plates on freeway, airport aircraft parking area, wharf freight shed, slab—foundations.
