Studies On Greening Design Of Urban New Residential District In Shanghai Suburbs

With the rapid development of economy,the process of urbanization has been continuously accelerated. Owing to the needs of municipal constructions,the residents living in the central part of city have been force to move to the outskirts of the city. As a result, many cities have gradually expanded to outskirts and some new suburban residential groups have appearanced,but also,this phenomenon bring many environment crises. According to the demands of returning to nature of metropolitan residents and embodying the subject of "Urbanization makes life more pleasant", the government of Shanghai have increased the investment and constructional strength for improving residential environment of the newly built residences,especially the suburban ones. Under the guide of ecology priciplels and the sense of plant landscape, the"Guidance of environmental greening of the newly built residence" has been put forward and a lot of new types of residential districts have been built. The Songjiang district, which is one of the major project of "one city with nine towns" affirmed by the government of Shanghai, is to be a typical representativeness.By taking a panoramic wiew of the development of the environmental greening of residential districts of Shanghai city, which has been developed from the early stage, simply planting trees in the old residences, to a new developing stage of greening by painstakingly designed and constructed,and scientifically conserved. However, many problems exist, including the lack of scientific design and guidance, and the overall understanding of ecology and artistic quality of plant collocation. So, in this paper, based on field investigations of the representative residential areas of the new district of Songjiang town, and using the basic principles of ecology, aesthetics, architecture and gardening, the general principles and scientific methods of the greening design in rural residential areas were studied.Firstly, the necessity, feasibility and purpose of this study were presented through the analyses of the construction of residential environment in the world and the development of residential environment of the newly built residential district inoutskirts of Shanghai city.Secondly, using ecological principles and ideas of ecological design, the guidances and design standards of greening in residential environment were summed up. and then, the general artistic skills, used in the landscape design of residential environment from the gardening and the technique of plant colocation wiewpoint, were discussed.Thirdly, the situation of the landscape design of the residential areas in the new district of Songjiang town was comprehensirely analyzed by linking with the result of investigation.Finally, the basic principles of landscape design of the newly built residential areas and plant collocation and the properties of the greening lands in various types of residential areas were summaried, and the scientific design method of the environmental greening of the newlly built residential areas in the outskirts of Shanghai city was discussed.
