Based on a large quantity of correlative data and fact-finding, the greening situation of Chengdu residential district was analyzed. It show: (1) The total area of residential district green space was 191.5376 hm2, which was 3.97% of Chengdu's total green space. It was the smallest one among all the types of green space. (2) There were differences among each district in area of green space. The smallest one was Jinjiang District located hi the center of the city. The second one was Chenghua District located in the east of the city. The residential district green space in west and south of the city were larger than that in other district. (3) The area of residential district green space increased every year. (4) The design style of each residential district green space was varied. The green space in the old residential district was some humdrum. Generally, the green space in the new residential district was various.The ecological benefits of Chengdu's residential district green space were analyzed, based on several experiments that had been taken in the Lidu Garden, the City Garden and the Xiaojiahe Residential District. There were conclusions:(1) Green space could decrease the consistency of TSP hi residential district.(2) Large-scale green space could reduce the consistency of CO2 in residential district, and it benefited resident. The consistency of CO2 in the Lidu Garden and the City Garden was lower than that in the Xiajiahe Residential District.(3) There were fewer bacteria in the Lidu Garden and in the City Garden than that in the Xiajiahe Residential District, because green space could lower the consistency of dust that took the bacteria. The number of bacteria hi the Xiajiahe residential district was 5.5 times more than Lidu Garden's and was 4.6 times more than City Garden's.(4) Plant could lower temperature and increase relative humidity of the environment itself. The larger green space was, the more obvious such effect was. The temperature in the Lidu Garden was 0.8-1.4℃ lower than that in the Xiajiahe Residential District and the relative humidity was 3%-8% higher. The temperature in the City Garden was 0.7-1.2℃ lower than thatin the Xiajiahe Residential District and the relative humidity was 3%-4% higher.(5) The residential district green space could not improve comfort in April and December.Change the ecological benefits of green space into currency, and it show: the ecological benefits of Chengdu's residential district green space in 2002 were about 114.85 million RMB. Increasing the residential district green area could improve the ecological benefits.The effect of residential district greening show: greening residential district could increase the economic benefits for real estate developer of.
