In recent years, the modem high-rise building is developed in the comprehensive direction with complicated figures and various functions, and the high-rise building with transfer slabs is increasingly applied in engineering. Thick transfer slabs, with its characteristics that it can meet the demand of flexible structure function changes above and below the transfer floor, are favored by designers and users. But, at present, studies on the internal force distributing rules and analyzing method of anti-earthquake responses of thick transfer slabs are not systematic and in-depth, so, this paper will discuss the problem.Taking one high-rise building with thick transfer slab as an example, this paper discusses the methods in the analysis of high-rise building with thick transfer slabs, and points out that it is reasonable and accords with the reality to adopt solid element in the analysis on thick transfer slabs. Then adopting integrated finite element method and using ANSYS, a finite-element analysis program, dynamical analysis is conducted, including modal analysis, response spectrum analysis and time history analysis. By analyzing structure's story displacements and story drifts, it finds the position of weakness. Also, the ratios of equivalent lateral stiffness and story-drift between the structure above and below the transfer slab are calculated, and the shear distribution of the building is analyzed. By analyzing the results, some designing suggestions are touched on to make any possibly significant contributions to structural engineering. The purpose of this paper is to get much more intensive understanding of the high-rise building with thick transfer slabs through analysis and research, to provide reasonable design guidelines and give any light to the future study.
