As computer technique is widely used in engineering design field, CAD technique is developed fast. Currently, the techniques of collaboration, share, remote working and distributed computation based on network are already hotspot in many application fields. However, collaboration of computation in cooperative works is also a new research subject. It mainly aims at the optimization for different aspects of the same product and satisfying all intentions of the designers. This paper summarized the research fruits of computer supported cooperative works technique's application on other fields and applied it on electromagnetic field. The computation of electromagnetic field is divided into three parts. They are preprocessor, solution and postprocessor. This paper designed the system for those three parts and realized collaboration works of it. In the preprocessor module, using ACIS geometry modeling technique and HOOPS graphic tool package provides interactive platform and realizes the cooperative visualization. In the solution module, designing distributed cooperative computing architecture and using theory of Multi-Agent designs semantic networks for cooperative computation. Using thinking in expert system and method of Disciple agent knowledge expression express the process of study and ratiocination. At the client, the designer can get a reasonable result. Using communication protocols exchanges data between multi-processes and realizes the Multi-Agent system of FEM. And using WinSock and FTP protocol reahzes net session and transmission. At last, in the postprocessor, using ANSYS software that provides function of display result and cooperative visualization realizes postprocessor cooperative design.
