Aircraft arresting gear is one kind of important safeguard equipment for airports. It is used to arrest an aircraft going beyond the range of a runway at normal landing or by accident to guarantee safety of the pilot and aircraft.At present, the research in some overseas countries is relatively advanced with few documents available; the study of arresting gear in our country is remaining at a premature stage. Based on the previous research, a deeper research on aircraft arresting gear is conducted in this paper. On the basis of the research on the arresting behavior of the carrier aircraft, the arresting model of the continental rise aircraft as well as its motion analysis is presented in the paper. Then the dynamics equations of its arresting behaviors are established in the research. At last, an in-depth analysis of the gained result is conducted considering all kinds of conditions. The main contents are: Firstly, according to the size of the existing arresting hook, a 3-D model of arresting hook is created in CATIA to represent its actual structure. Then, the space kinematics is stimulated, which gives the work rules of arresting hook. In the end, a finite elements analysis is conducted in the condition of the arresting hook with the maximum axial force.Secondly, kinematics equations of arresting hook in different conditions are established, which includes hook bouncing,bounce displacement and runway friction in regular or irregular runway and so on .Then the motion equations of an arresting hook engaging an arresting cable directly and indirectly are presented.Finally, the research on the dynamics loads as well as the effects of the motion of the wheels to the process of arresting gear engaging is conducted.
