Research And Development About CAD System Of Gear Based-on Platform Of PDM

As a kind of important part of mechanical drives,gear's designing and making technology is an important symbol of a nation's mechanical manufacturing level.Faced with fierce competition,how to quickly produce the parts that satisfy the market is the key of the competition,an effective CAD system is the key point of realizing this goal.This paper analyses the gear with the feature technology and the object-oriented technology.The gear's feature concept that is suitable for the system development is defined: Analyzed the relation of gear's features, the information model of the gear is setup in terms of the data and the object. The systematic function module frame finally is structured and the realization of every function module is described briefly. During the development of the CAD system of gear, this paper introduces expert knowledge into procedure of CAD and actualizes the intellectualization in design process, strength analysis. By developing the interface to the CAD system and customizing the PDM system, this paper realizes the integration of the CAD system and the PDM system, so the product information and document management have been accomplished.And then the detailed implement method is discussed and some examples are given to explain the CAD system of gear based-on PDM system.Finally, a summary of this paper is given and the prospect for the deeply-developing of CAD and the information integration between the CAD system and the PDM system is described.
