With the development of urban transportation in recent years, motor vehicles increase. Ecological and environmental problems caused by transportation development are becoming more significant, causing greater pollution. This causes impacts on work and life of people and becomes an important problem that attracts the public. The goal of study on evaluation of environment impact for urban transportation network is improving the environmental impacts of transportation, achieving the continue development of urban transportation and balancing urban transportation and environment. This dissertation establishes evaluation model of environmental impact for urban transportation network by analyzing the content and meaning of environment impact of urban transportation. The model considers three parts, which are atmosphere environment, noise environment and ecological environment. Domestic and abroad studies are summarized and fuzzy synthetic evaluation method is adopted which combines Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method and fuzzy evaluation method.America transportation simulation software was utilized in the dissertation, namely TSIS. On the basis of analyzing the emission model embedded in CORSIM, the calculation method of total emission by all motor vehicle in urban transportation network is established, which is introduced into the evaluation system of urban transportation environmental impact. The example indicates that, not only total emission by all motor vehicle in urban transportation network may be calculated by traffic simulation technology, but also its color classifying technology can indicate the pollution content by vehicles, visually analyzing and evaluating the pollution content of every link. Finally, this dissertation discusses the application of traffic control method in improving measures of urban transportation environment. The illustration example indicates that, by reasonably limiting the speed of urban vehicles and alternating the signals at grade intersection, the total emission of motor vehicles can be reduced while assuring normal transportation operation.
