Though as a transfer structural style with good stress performance, the box transfer story is not widely applied in practice. This phenomenon can be chiefly attributed to the immature design theory, complicated construction and high cost. Thus, based on the overview of the current research and project application situations of the tall building with box transfer story, the paper explores the modeling method and analytical procedure. Meanwhile, software SATWE and SAP2000 are employed to analyze the structure dynamic property and the impact regularity of earthquake response in transfer story position, box height as well as vertical rigidity ratio. What's more, the main conclusions can be drawn combined with practical projects via scrutinizing several issues on earthquake-resistance design of box transfer story.①With the enhancement of box position, the general variation of ratio Tt/T1 between first natural vibration period led by structure torsion and by translation appears with the ascending trend; Tt/T1 descends with the rising of box height, while the increasing amount of Tt/T1 will be relatively large with the weakening of structure torsion rigidity (torsion irregular structure).②The influence of vertical rigidity ratio in transfer story is greater than that of transfer story position and box height on structure dynamic property.③By virtue of software SATWE, the transfer story can be merged with the story below as one story to simplify the modeling. Besides, the inner force results of structural member over the transfer story can be put into effect in structural design. In addition, the shear force and moment of flexure under the transfer story should be adjusted with reference to the findings of 3D Finite Element Analysis.④The box transfer story can be simplified into wall model of common girt strip, beam model of common girt strip and open-frame girder model of compound beam according to different project situations.⑤The maximum interlayer displacement angle of box transfer structure descends on the whole with the enlargement of box rigidity.⑥The bottom earthquake shear of structure elevates with the upper shift of transfer story position and with the enlargement of box rigidity; the maximum general displacement will increase with the reduction of box height and augmentation of...
