The Study On Landscape Ecological Planning Of Urban Waterfront

Urban waterfront is a vital area of the origin and development of a city. It is also the most sensitive area in urban environment, culture and ecology. Urban waterfront, which has potential ecological advantages, is of vital importance to the survival and development of city and mankind. However, owing to various inappropriate human activities in land use in the past, the harmony and balance were destroyed among landscape ecological elements in urban waterfront, and the landscape ecological functions were weakened. With the development of society and economy, the reorientation and function transformation of urban waterfront urges a new round of research and development about waterfront in the world. Probeing into the high-efficient ,harmonious, healthy safe and sustainable development of urban waterfront landscape becomes a common concern and should be urgently resolved.According to the current situation map of land use and topographic map, combining on-the-spot investigation, taking GIS as the technological platform, landscape classification information storage of YueYang Tower waterfront was established . applying the principle and techniques of landscape ecology, city planning, landscape architecture etc., the landscape ecology of YueYang tower was analyzed and assessed, and the landscape ecologica planning of main elements was put forward and discussed. The results are as follows:(1) There was a dramatic decrease of natural landscape in YueYang Tower waterfront. The landscape featured a high level of fragmentation, lacking the continuity between pattern and process of landscape ecological. It reflects that man-made disturbance has a dominant influence on landscape. It resulted in non-harmony among the landscape elements and invalidity of landscape ecological function.(2) Waterfront of YueYang Tower has potential landscape advantages. Ancient urban pattern and cultural relics were preserved fairly well. The environmental superiority of waterfront is very distinct. There is an opportunity for the recovery and renew of landscape ecological.(3) The main landscape problems in YueYang Tower waterfront are as follows: isolated landscape resource was lacking of integration; tourism industry was single and was lacking of local and culture feature; the economy in old downtown declined;...
