Our country is a country of great energy consumption, but the energy utilization is low. The uses and constructions of buildings take a half part of all energy consumption. It's a great challenge confronted for our country to reduce buildings energy consumption, which has been paid much attention by whole the country. It becomes a focus of related experts' attention that the whole glass curtain walls widely-used in buildings, especially in public buildings, have great energy consumption. It has even been regarded as a reason to stop using glass curtain walls. To solve this problem, some related experts have developed some new methods to save energy consumption in glass curtain walls, and certain effects have reached. However, the defects of low efficiency and high costs are still existed. This dissertation aimed to make use of sunshine energy to conserve energy in glass curtain walls. The heat-collection devices within insulating glass curtain walls can absorb heat energy from sunshine to heat water, which can be used for the building and its central air conditioners. In this dissertation, the feasibility of heat-collected insulating glass are theoretically analyzed. The data were gained from heat-collection efficiency test and other related tests of heat-collected insulating glass. The feasibility in practical projects was confirmed through analyses of structural behaviours, and the safety in practical projects was proved with the test of structural security. The new heat-collected insulating glass developed in this dissertation can be used in real building projects and some conclusions drawn from this dissertation are useful.
