Fierce market competion and customers' diversified requirements make enterprises bear rapid adaptability and innovative ability .Agile Manufacturing is leading Manufacturing model in 21th century. Manufacturing Execution System(MES) is essential technique measure for realizing Agile Manufacturing strategy and job-shop production agility. Job-Shop Scheduling And Control is core of MES. Research on production Sheduling and control has importance to improve job-shop production management, to optimize production resources configuration and to increase manufacturing competition in our country.Firstly, three aspects on job-shop scheduling-modelling, scheduling methods and strategies are summed. Dynamic job-shop scheduling mehthods under the Agile Manufacturing environment and the prospective researching and developing trends on job-shop scheduling are also analysed.Secondly ,this paper discusses a new approach of job shop scheduling based on a heuristic dispaching algorithm. In this approach, Remaining Operating Time(ROT) is divided into two types :one is Relative ROT, and the other is Absolute ROT.A new dispatching rule, i.e. the maximum Relative ROT of part is priority, is presented. This scheduling algorithm is proven to be effective by examples and theory analysis. This paper also researches Manufacturing Execution System (MES) oriented job-shop scheduling and productiong control system. A hierarchical, distributed job-shop production control architecture is construted. According to the software development method of Rational Unified Process (RUP), we analysis and design the system by means of the Unified Modeling Language(UML).At last, based J2EE platform,a job-shop scheduling and control prototype system is developed.
