Modern management will be needed by modern electric power system. The request to management is more and more strict in every part of power companies. More and more information will be managed by advanced ways. Conventional management ways can not deal with collected information scientifically and lack of the ability to analysis synthetically and forecast the trends of future development because of the limit of technique. Thus, it is inevitable to make mistake during decision-making process. Thereby, a set of practical information aid-analysis and decision- making system has been demanded.It is prerequisite to analyze process and content of power marketing decision and to make out the research step based on MIS before developing an applied power marketing decision support system. The research based on the rising data warehouse technology is a new realization form of DSS, and it overcomes the difficult of DSS.This paper takes power market system as working background, discusses some important problems coming from the reformation of electrical power corporation in our country.The environment which marketing system of electric power faces is very complex and changeable, just as the other marketing system. So decision-making support system(DSS) of power marketing belongs to the category of semi-structure. Decision-making of this system has many uncertainty factors and lacks of normal form to be followed. Therefore, many questions need decision support.In this paper, a structure that can be applied to decision-support has been constructed.The paper designs the software system of power marketing DSS based on the data warehouse running management for data transformation services(DTS),PivotTable service, multidimensional expressions(MDX) self-leading, model analyzing .
