Solid Modeling Of Thread And Writing The Part Geometric Files With C Conforming To ISO13584

With the development of the CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacture), enterprise integration changes from information integration to process integration, so a scientific and uniform standard is urgently needed to describe and build CAD standard parts library, it can ensure that CAD standard parts library can be transplanted, and can exchange and share the standard parts library information among enterprises and within enterprises.ISO 13584 is the international standard which can be explained by computer and can express and exchange the standard parts library data. The objective is to provide a neutral mechanism that can be capable of transferring standard parts library data, and independent of any application. The essence of this expression not only makes it fit to exchange the neutral files about the parts library information, but also is the base of creating and sharing the parts library data. So it is very important to develop the standard parts library based on ISO 13584 standard.Thread is the main structure of most standard parts, so the solid modeling of the thread is one of the emphases in developing the standard parts library. The thread is simply regarded as the track of triangle and rectangle along the helix, but there is not the function which can be used to achieve the thread that is formed by scanning the plane along the path. Thread can be formed by pulling and stretching the transect of thread along the cylinder helix, but the result is that the thread is overturned. And the solid modeling of the thread is achieved by pulling and stretching lines, but the direction is changeable, the plane is changed with the direction, the plane is plumb with the limited line, it is very difficult to control.
