Brake parts are the core parts of an aircraft. Their design quality and efficiency play an important role in whole aircraft design and manufacturing process. There are many types of standard parts in the process of aviation brake parts’design and manufacture. For example, threaded fasteners account for 30%~40% of total part quantity. In the process of new product development, designers have to build necessary fasteners and consult paper documents repeatedly, which not only wastes a large number of manpower and material resources, but also hampers the efficiency of product development seriously. In the paper, a standard parts library of aviation brake fasteners is established in CATIA. MBD technology is applied to achieve the comprehensively digital definition of the aviation brake fasteners.In the paper, a parametric design method where table data are used to drive model parameters is applied to establish the library. Excel tables are used to manage the design parameters of the standard fasteners. The design parameters in the Excel tables are connected with the constraint parameters of fastener models with the equation functions in CATIA. Thus, part family models are established. By using the FA&T functions in CATIA, the MBD definition of the standard fasteners is realized and additional information is also added to the fastener models according to the practical requirements of an applied enterprise. Thus, the integrated labeling of design information and manufacturing information of three-dimensional (3D) models is achieved. Finally, two-dimensional (2D) electronic drawings and 3D renderings are added to the library management system to realize multi-view management. The developed library makes it possible for the enterprise designers and manufacturing personnel to share standard part resources effectively and guarantee the uniqueness of standard part data. At the same time, it can help the designers to be far from repetitive and tedious standard part modeling and help the enterprise to effectively improve production efficiency.
