With the development of the computer technology, the finite element software has been diffusely applied in the engineering design. But the expenditure of the software is too exorbitant. Furthermore, the optimized design of the structure has not been applied in the practice widely, though this conception has been advanced long before. Thus, this dissertation tried to utilize the Internet to harmonize the resource all around, so that research ratherish in the field of the network-cooperative optimization design of steel structure.In order to accomplish the network-cooperative design, the author uses several ready-made softwares(AutoCAD,ANSYS and Optimizing Toolkit of Steel Structure) as core of pre-and-post processing, analyzing and optimizing, they were made integrally by developing the remote Web Service. In the beginning, the clients use AutoCAD to establish the analytic model of ANSYS, and send it to the server of the analytic service of ANSYS to analyze. Then the server utilizes Optimizing Toolkit of Steel Structure which was developed by Shantou University to optimize the component according to ANSYS's analytic result. Finally the server will return the analytic and optimizing result to the clients, so that they can do the post-processing in AutoCAD. The author has constructed an integrated procedure including the AutoCAD pre-processing, the analytic service of ANSYS, the optimizing service by Optimizing Toolkit of Steel Structure and the post-processing in AutoCAD; this is the primary realization of network-cooperative design of steel structure.This dissertation suggests using AutoCAD to perform ANSYS's pre-prossing in consideration of the widely usage of AutoCAD in our country, and making a primary exploring and realization. AutoCAD's GUI is much friendlier than ANSYS's. While operating objects in AutoCAD, it's more accurate and convenient than in ANSYS. In this dissertation, the author classifies different components in different AutoCAD layers, and makes these layers corresponding to the CM command in ANSYS, so that user can manage the model conveniently.The server provides several Web services by developing the service, for example, creating tasks, inquiring tasks and returning results. And the clients and the server are link together with each other by the Web service.When optimizing the components, the cooperation of ANSYS and Optimizing Toolkit of Steel Structure reduce the section area of unreasonable components evidently. Because the developing of Optimizing Toolkit of Steel Structure is based on the code for structure of our country, the optimized section is exactly a section correspond to the code for structure of our country.This dissertation performs the secondary development of AutoCAD by ObjectARX Managed Wrapper Classes. By the secondary development of AutoCAD, the author performs post-processing of the result which returns from the server in AutoCAD. In AutoCAD, Stress and displancement are display in color nephogram like finite element analysis softwares used to do. This dissertation also introduces a method to build a value-color comparing bar.
