After China' s entering into WTO, the vehicle engine design enterprises also face the challenge that never met before, so the design of railway products becomes very important, especially during the different places's design, so the remote design comes into being.Importing network technology into traditional CAX(CAD/CAE/CAM/CAPP) technology , which will give it the new erengy, is a research and applying direction of great development future. What's more, it has developed a great deal.In this paper, First, Web-based collaborative design of railway vehicle's products discusses overall design project, explains the collaborative design technology's actuality and development tendency, puts forward the system's design project's frame and dissertates the construction of the main module of the collaborative design website.Next, taken the example of typical railwayproducts-engine's shaft box, realizes the virtual simulation assemble bymeans of VRML,At the same time, by using the 3D sculpt analysis software I-DEAS processes, the FE analysis of shaft box and resolves the problems met in the collaborative design through the expert system and in the end elicits the reasonable results. In a word,Web-based collaborative design of railway vehicle's products, which realized the sharing of design information and proved the collaborative design website to be reliable ,correct and very applied totally through the info alternation between the collaborative users and design personnels in the shaft box's FE analysis , thus conformed to the demand of products's design in other places. At the same time,it will shorten the product's exploitation period, enhance the competition of the enterprise and make great contribution to China's railway enterprise.
