Present, our country's "Technical specification for steel structure of tall buildings (JGJ 99-98)" and "Code for design of steel structures (GB 50017—2003)" for the beams and columns of steel frame primary member have more detailed provisions. In contrast, related design requirements of beam-column connection are not entirely reasonable, especially, related stipulations of high-rise steel structural beam-column connection considered the ultimate load-carrying capacity of elastic-plastic deformation under the earthquake load are coarse for the research of steel structural rigid connection and semi-rigid connection is not very thorough, lead to this present situation. It utilizes the non-linear finite element numerical analysis method, analyze two kinds of typical rigid connection and two kinds of classic semi-rigid connection. According to the deformations of joint panel zone under different situation and stress distribution, it proposed concise and practical design idea and method and a series of valuable foundation data for going to revise "Technical specification for steel structure of tall buildings (JGJ 99-98)", pointed out the impropriety of related regulations of the present codes.
