With the development of bionics and MEMS technology, it is possible to develop bionic micro-nano navigation system based on the navigation principle by polarization of the desert ant. Foundation of the platform of polarization angle measurement can supply necessary navigation information for the system. It is necessary to design photo-electricity test system for the platform. Contenting the demand of polarization angle measurement, both systems on virtual instrument and on ARM are designed based on the angle measurement model, which lays a foundation for bionic micro-nano navigation system.Two design methods of the test system are presented in this paper firstly, which include virtual instrument system based on DAQ card and embedded system based on 32-bit micro-controller. The main function of the test system is represented, and the overall framework of both systems is given. Then focuses on the design of both test systems.The test system is developed based on virtual instrument. Hardware of the system consists of photo-electricity unit, analog signals process unit, power design unit and DAQ unit. As for software, the front panel and blockdiagram are designed based on LabVIEW. Analysis of the interference with the system is studied, and the corresponding improvement measures are presented.The embedded test system is designed based on ARM micro-controller according to the integration of bionic navigation system. Hardware design and software development is presented in detail.. The RTOS μC/OS-Ⅱ and μC/GUI are adopted in the system based on 32-bit ARM micro-controller S3C44B0X, which ensure the real time and reliability of the test system. The system can meet the needs of acquisition, processing, display and storage of three polarized signal.Application of the test system on virtual instrument in the test of polarization angle measurement is introduced in the last. The test results achieve the desired objectives. The test system can meet the requirements of the current experimental phase.
