In the industrial application field the requirements of test experiment on nonmetal material are growing and more and more specific. As a result much more attention is paid on the research of portable or minitype mechanical test system. This kind of test system can meet the requirement of nonmetal material test in the laboratory. So research and explore on the technologies used in the design and application of the test system can advance the development of portable mechanical test system in our country.With the electronical technology, computer science and network technology are used in electronical test field, new instrument technologies and concepts are being developed. Virtual Instrument technology is the advanced one of them. Using Virtual Instrument technology in the portable test system can benefit the design and development of the test system.Virtual Instrument technology covers all the aspects of eletronical test field, like the hardware and software of electromechanical interface, virtual instrument test system program. Taking the portable mechanical test system as an object, we design and analyse the sensor data acquisition module, stepmotor microstep drive module, electromechanical drive program and virtual instrument system software with LabVIEW. In addition, test some part of electromechanical drive module and stepmotor microstep drive module with simulation program.
