This paper derives from the second stage development of DHI Gear Reducer manufacturing management system. In order to solve the problems occurring in software structure, efficiency and reliability in the first stage of the system, the second stage development platform is designed and realized with the model driven theory.Based on the model driven theory, this paper focuses on software structure and automatic system generation. A new solution for the second stage development platform is put forward through analyzing the demands of the system. Firstly, the function model is established through concluding the functions of the second stage system and the business logic is separated from the idiographic realization. Secondly, the complexity of the business logic is analyzed, and the common relation model for the system is abstracted. Finally, the platform is divided into common configuration layer, data access layer, logic operation layer, and display layer with the layered design. Thus the structure of the second stage development platform is designed.In the realization of the platform, this paper designs several page templates based on the relation model by using template development and .NET technique. The realization of the basic functions for the platform is achieved by mapping the functions of template to all the layers with the different software design patterns and object-oriented programming. Besides, this paper develops the auxiliary functions such as statistic state charts and guide page so as to improve convenience and efficiency of the platform. This paper also designs auxiliary tools for platform with the .NET's Addin technique to automatically generate the page common functions.The platform has been applied to the second stage development of DHI Gear Reducer manufacturing management system. It has also been used in other system development such as the lean production system for Dalian Refrigeration Plant. These applications show that this platform not only has integrated structure, high efficiency, and high reliability, but also fits for the development of enterprises.
