During the past 30 years, especially in recent 10 years, the repair-manufacture ship industry in our country has a rapid development, and the repair-manufacture ship ability has been improved tremendously, in which the quantity of the large-size shipyard has increased continuously. Furthermore, a lot of large-size shipyards will be constructed in the coming years. The dry dock gate is the key equipment of the large-size shipyard, which influences the total function of the entire shipyard if it is designed improperly. In order to improve the dry dock gate's design level, the paper introduces the method of parametrized modeling and optimal design.There are four key segments in the design of the dry dock gate, which have been studied in my paper: the research on the digital modeling of the dry dock gate; the research on the parametrized modeling of the dry dock gate; the research on optimization of the dry dock gate; the research on special simulative system of the dry dock gate.(1) In this paper, the method and process of building simulative model of the dry dock gate is researched, which is helpful for parametrized modeling in future.(2) In this paper, the building method of the dry dock gate's parametric model is studied and the dynamic analysis is accomplished in ADAMS, furthermore, the uprising angle curve is drawn while the dry dock gate is uprising.(3) The paper has researched the dry dock gate's parametric model, on the base of optimization module in ADAMS. Then, the downfall parametric model which is based on the optimized parameters is also established. The credibility of the optimization is validated through compared with simulative curve and the experimental ideal curve.(4) On the base of the further development of the software ADAMS, the special simulative system has been designed, and the Chinese human computer interface has been customized. This design which could shorten design cycle makes the dry dock gate designers who are not up on the operation and complicated English commands of ADAMS accomplish the work like study, design and improvement. It indicates the credibility of the system through the concrete instances .
