According to the boom of shopping mall construction in recent years, the thesis has a systemic research on the develop possibility of mall in china. The thesis has a historic review and summarize on the external factors, such as the development of economy and urbanization. On the other hand, it also analyses the inner factors, which includes the development pattern, the develop course and so on. Then, the paper had a deep inquiry to the problems and puzzles, which appeared during the construction. Based on the longitudinal research of mall's evolution history and the transverse comparison of mall's patterns and phases, the author made a comparatively comprehensive conclusion, and put forward the future suggestions.The thesis starts with clearing up the definitions and concepts of mall, and makes classification according to different standards, which will bring a clear boundary of the following research. Then, it begins to analyses the evolution history of mall from the aspects of retail, urban space, and planning theories, and summarizes the deep-seated rules of mall's development. After that, a systemic discuss on mall's develop course and design is laid out, which collects the necessary conditions by analyzing mall's internal factors. Further more, the thesis concludes the problems of construction and has a deep inquiry according to their background and current status.Based on these researches, the necessary conditions and the peculiar circs of China are cleared. An analyses on develop possibility of different types of malls is carried out too.Finally, the thesis predicts the growing trends of mall in China, and ends with providing some useful suggestions on government regulation and control.
