FMS is one of the rapidly developing technologies in present manufacturing. Simulation-based FMS distributed & hierarchical control architecture was built in this thesis. Simulation-based FMS control system model was built on the basis of function analysis, information analysis and dynamic analysis for FMS real-time control system. The system is composed of FMS control floor, unit control floor, and equipment control floor. FMS control floor is the key component whose task includes choosing process route, allocating resource, scheduling works, monitoring process, detecting & repairing failure and preparing report of system state. Therefore, simulation-based FMS control unit was developed. The operational process is that: simulating when receiving process plan from up-floor, manufacturing sequencing, allocating resource for works, sending control command, and controlling equipments. This system also has real-time monitoring function because it can receive state information fed back from the bottom. Finally, FMS control system model was built with Flexsim and Visual C++ for the didactical SL-FMS in our lab. And the control for this system was implemented. In addition, Simulation-base scheduling was also discussed. Virtual-queue based dynamic scheduling algorithm was introduced. A improved algorithm is presented. The running result proved that the algorithm was feasible.
