The servo system of azimuth controller is a combine system of mechanics and electrics, the transmission mechanism drives the executive element by control signal to carry out the demanded motion. A gearing system is usually applied in servo system of azimuth controller and its performance has directly influence to the function of servo system. The gear transmission set adopts a small modulus which value is less than 1, it should satisfy not only the design requirement of general precision machinery, but also the precision and performance requirement of the servo system.In the manufacturing process of azimuth controller, we discover that the following error often lie in the critical state. Combined with the characteristic of gear drive in servo system, the influence factors of transmission accuracy as well as the transmission error and the return difference are systematically studied, a set of control method is put forward to increase the gear transmission accuracy and to guarantee motion accuracy of product. It has great significance to control the product quality in the process of design, manufacture and assembly for our factory.Starting with the design and analysis of precision gear transmission in servo system of azimuth controller, the influence of the transmission accuracy of precision gear drive, the transmission error of feedback segment, the signal error of input device and gear backlash to dynamic and static quality of servo system in azimuth controller is analyzed. Combine with the cause analysis of the transmission error and the return difference existing in processes of the design, manufacture and assembly, some methods are put forward to increase the performance of servo system. The design and analysis are done for a given azimuth controller, and the transmission error and the return difference are also calculated. The software of Pro/Engineer is adopted to establish the 3-D solid model and visual assembly of the azimuth controller and then the transform of 2-D engineering drawing is completed.Combined with the design, manufacture and assembly of product, the transmission precision and control are studied and the improved design of drive system and the control method of transmission precision are put forward.
