Study On Administrative Mechanism Of Urban Public Space In China For Sustainable Development

Urban public space plays a key role in the life of citizens. Importance has been greatly attached to its construction in all social circles. However, it still leaves a lot to be desired. As for the study of urban public space, we have made great progress in design. However, few studies focus on its administrative mechanism. Based on analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of urban public space construction practices both in China and Western countries, this paper suggests a new strategy of urban public space construction in accordance with the need of China. Through analysis of typical cases, comes out ways and modes which are appropriate to the construction of urban public space.Starting with the concept of urban space, the paper discusses the connotation and denotation of urban public space and its mechanism, which gives a clear image of the subject. Then the paper expounds the importance of urban public space and the necessity of studying urban public space administrative mechanism. Furthermore, from the standpoint of history, it mentions the development of urban public space. Finally, through analysis of typical cases and advanced theories at home and abroad, the thesis deals with the current situation of urban public space construction in China as well as its existing problems.The key point in the thesis is to propose the operating and developing strategy of urban public space, to discuss various procedures related to urban public space construction as well as its protection measures and to elaborate the whole process from the exploitation and designing, management during construction, to the maintenance after construction. What's more, the thesis logically and structurally discusses several problems in operation, such as public participation, rules and regulations, operation of land, organizations of management, etc. As a result, the thesis focuses on typical cases at home and abroad, and analyses the designing, the source of funds, and organizations of management in the cases, trying to find what might be useful to the construction of urban pubic space in China.
