Nowadays, though more and more manufacture corporation realized the development of digital products based on web and computer application system, most of the product development modes are behindhand, which baffles the improvement of product development. Process integration is an effective approach. Process modeling is the chief thing to combine the advanced management with information technology to realize the alternation and cooperation between the phases of the product development. It is not only need to describe the development process and logic relations by formalized method, but also apply the idea of product lifecycle to process modeling to establish collateral mode to improve the development ability of corporation. The design process is presented and established the lifecycle mode of product development. At the same time, several factors related to mechanical design come down to various features and solution principles are discussed according to layout design. Layout design model is established. Finally, an example of reducer layout design is realized with simulated annealing algorithm, Object ARX and C++ technologies on AutoCAD platform. And the analysis of layout parametric results is presented. The main research work in each chapter is stated as follows:Chapter One is introduction. The present research situation of layout modeling and multi-view feature modeling for integral product development are addressed.Chapter Two states the multi-view feature model for integral product development. The lifecycle model of product is established and the functionalities of every views and consistency maintenance are addressed.Chapter Three discusses the diversified factors of mechanical product layout design and come down them to various features. Layout design model is established.Chapter Four states the feasibility and validity of layout design model through the example of two-grade reducer.Chapter Five introduces the environment of software development. Using Object ARX technology in AutoCAD environment and Visual C++, the reducer layout design software development course and its result analysis are stated.Some beneficial conclusions have been drawn and some considerations for future work are discussed in the end of this paper.
