As one of the main technical means reducing emission and improving the fuel economy, the electronic control for fuel injection system of diesel engine has become the research hotspot and trend at present and in the future. Various electronic fuel injection systems have been developed and applied to different fields, all of them are still continuously being developed and consummated. We engaged late in the research of the electronic fuel injection of diesel engine, the level is also lower. But it is the urgent task for our diesel engine industry to track the advanced technology and develop new electronic fuel injection system which is suitable for Chinese conditions. Some results on R&D of the fuel injection system of electronic unit pump of diesel locomotives are introduced in this thesis.By researching systematically the working performances of the solenoid-controlled valve, some theories and experimental rules are summarized. Based on designing, machining and matching of experimentation, the solenoid-controlled valve has good working performances in dynamic response, stability, sealing quality and fuel unloading. And a new type of electronic unit pump which has practicality is developed.The mathematical model of the fuel injection system of electronic unit pump has been set up in this paper, and computer emulation programs with Matlab6.5 Simulink Tools have been written for this system. Basic feature of injection system is gotten by changing a certain parameter independently and then calculating emulationally, through which we know that the influence of each structure parameter on fuel injection system. So it provides the necessary basis for future design and improvement. By combining emulation with experiment research, the hydraulic processes and its characteristics of the fuel injection system of electronic unit pump have been revealed systematically. The changing rules of the fuel pressure of the injection system within the four steps of the injection process are analyzed. The injection control rules such as matching the fuel quantity, timing and harmonizing dynamic, injection pressure with the injection system parameter are revealed.The overall construction design, experimental matching and online running of the fuel injection system of electronic unit pump are completed.
