With soaring improvement of the regulation requirements worldly, the electronic unitpump (EUP) system is widely used in heavy-duty diesel engines. As a core component ofthe EUP system, the work performance of high-speed solenoid valve (HSSV) directlyaffects control accuracy of an electronically controlled fuel injection system (ECFIS),thereby, the power output and exhaust emissions of the diesels. Therefore, research on theworking mechanism and characteristics of a high-speed solenoid valve is very instructivefor EUP diesel developments, both in theories and applications.Based on the NDB007A type of HSSV used in a heavy-duty diesel, this thesisanalyzed its characteristics of the electromagnetic field. Firstly, the working mechanismand required performance of the HSSV are analyzed; the assumed initial work in static isanalyzed; the HSSV working mechanisms in the sub-fields, such as the electronics, magnetics, mechanics and hydraulics, are analyzed; and dynamic characteristics of thehysteresis and eddy-current loss are carried out. Secondly, both the mathematical model ofelectromagnet and corresponding testing system are established; and the simulation resultsare verified by using the measured data. Finally, based on the above findings, thenumerical simulation is applied to study the structure and control parameters effect on theelectromagnetic force and response velocity, and the influence rule of each parameter isobtained. A scheme of orthogonal test for multi-parameter optimization is designed todetermine the sensitivities of key parameters and to optimize their value ranges; thus, awhole optimization design of the electromagnetic field and structure of the sample HSSVare carried out.Through the important characteristics analysis of the electromagnetic field for theHSSV used in diesel engine, the structure optimization for HSSV is completed. The work done may be regarded as the theoretical and technical references for developing HSSVused in EUP diesels.
