Urban sewer system is an important part of urban Infrastructural facilities, as well as key engineering for preventing water pollution and discharging waste water. It plays a significant role in eliminating and reducing urban water disasters. With the fast development of information technology such as computer technology, network technology and communication technology etc, modernization management of urban drainage networks have been facing challenges and opportunities, and building hydraulic computer model become true. The purpose of urban sewer system model is to simulate or forecast the flow conditions in the drainage systems, in order to manage and control the system. Modeling the urban sewer system becomes an important approach to realize the the scientific management of urban drainage networks.This thesis is aimed at the construction of urban sewer system hydraulic model. Firstly, the current research situation and application development of the urban sewer system model in home and abroad is introduced, and the application back ground, conception and type of urban sewer system is also described by the numbers. Secondly, composition of mathematic models and techniques of sewer system are analyzed in details. Related to the case of Zhenjiang modeling, this text constructs a data demanding analysis for the drainage network model, and introduces the data sort and collection method of dynamic hydraulic models, according to such topics as data importance in modeling, so as to provide a reference for the future modeling. And a sewerage monitoring system with two-stage net structure is raised in this text. Then the modeling principle and techniques of SWMM model have been analyzed.Finally, on the basis of modeling theories and studies about the urban sewer system, the SWMM model is applied to the urban sewer system modeling in the central zone of Zhengjiang city. The research is mainly about the establish and application of the model. It introduces a practical modeling method for the urban drainage networks, which includes basec data collection and inputting , sub-catchment delineation, initial selection for model parameters, and simulation scene analysis etc. Based on the storm intensity equation, the simulation scene employs Chicago Hydrograph Model to synthesize different rainfall scenes with different return periods for dynamic simulation and analysis of unsteady flow in the sewer systems.
