This thesis discusses about SRD which uses Switched Reluctance Motor as a controlling object, hardware make-up and software design. The system has the characteristic of digital control for motor, which is achieved by using dsPIC30F6010.This system uses dsPIC30F6010 as a microcontroller, the inverter is made up of driving circuit and protecting circuit, which are separated from the controller of Nanjing Ruipeng Company. Photoelectric couplers in the driving circuit are used for transmitting the signal PWM and levels of I/O. The problem of overcurrent and overload is solved by protecting circuit. To reduce electromagnetic noise it chooses super-audio frequency PWM master frequency. It uses the way of soft-starting.The structure of the software design is composed of the main routine and the interrupt service subroutines. The main program achieves the initiation of the chip and other initiations. Changing phases, high level generating of I/O and PWM generating are realized by interrupt service subroutines.It can be concluded from the experiment results that the motor starts faster, runs better and has a wider range of the speed regulation, but the motor runs with noise at low speed, which is the defect of it.
