The research on power system dynamic simulation has great importance. The work involved in this dissertation includes:1. The quantitative error criteria have been summarized. Prony analysis has been used to distill the dynamic characteristics of PMU and simulation datasets.2. The software used for simulation evaluation has been developed using Visual C++ 6.0 and MATLAB 6.5. The mixed-programming has been realized through creating dynamic link library files in MATLAB. The Object-oriented Programming has been used to improve the software maintainability.3. The installation package of the software has been created by packing related files. The software has been designed to run independent of VC++ and MATLAB environments. Pretreatment of the measurements has been carried out by removing the noises. Several example calculations using real system measurements and simulations have been carried out to verify the validity of the software.
