This thesis presents the analysis of engineering property of soft clay from Huanghua Port, comparison with soft clay from Tianjin Port and application of two ways to improve soft foundation.Based on engineering geological datum from construction for eleven years, such features as genesis, particle fraction, classification of plastic chart, structure, distribution, stress history, vane-shear test strength Cu and evolvement trend of diversified physical and mechanical index with depth of soft clay from Huanghua Port are be described by geological analysis and mathematical statistics. The curves ofτvs. p and e vs. p are plotted herein. By synthetic study, the standard value of shear strength index, strength gaining formula, simplified equation for settlement estimate, correlations among physical indexes, physical and mechanical indexes are also given in the thesis.①Huang Huagang the soft soil has the model the soft soilcharacteristic: The high water content, is high raito, the highcompression, the low intensity and the low permeability. Soft soilpellet ingredient by silt and clay primarily, silty soil band byextremely fine-grain and silt primarily. Thus, its subsidence formula may simplify is:Compared with soft clays, the result is shown that the engineering property of soft clay from Huanghua Port is superior to Tianjin. Otherwise, these soft soils have the same basal attribution. Therefore, various favorable experiences in soft foundation improvement from Tianjin port can be adopted in Huanghua. In particular, the application of two subsoil treatment approaches of vacuum dewatering consolidation and soil-cement processing to soft soil from Huanghua is demonstrated by treatment effect analysis.
