Vernacular Application Research Of Towns’ Waterfront Landscape

The current waterfront development and utilization has become a new spot in the villages and towns development, which gets people’s concern and attention. However, The rapid development of towns’waterfront space which started late faces many problems, typically represents by lacking of regional cultural features and coordinating with the ecological environment. To find out the ways to solve the above problems, this paper tries to introduce local design concept, which respects nature to protect waterfront ecological environment and respect local characteristics to inherit the characteristics of the regional cultural, so as to realize the reasonable development and characteristics of the waterfront landscape development.Firstly, starts from the interpretation of the waterfront landscape and local design concept, the local element of township and village waterfront landscape are mined and analyzed. Local elements come from the production and living of people, according to the forms and the different element attributes, vernacular landscape elements can be divided into "natural landscape elements", "humanity physical landscape elements", "humanity non-material landscape elements". Through correlation analysis of the vernacular landscape elements, the introducing process and expression of waterfront landscape are discussed, which lay the foundation for the rural township waterfront landscape design.Secondly, the classic design cases of township and village waterfront landscape both at home and abroad are analyzed, and the design principles and methods are also summarized, and then these principles and methods are applied to the MeiXian local-color town waterfront landscape design case. In terms of respecting the regional characteristic, through the direct application of local materials and the reprocessing of the local custom folk art, we are making efforts to restore and recreate the original regional culture, which tries to cause the local plot of the local people; In terms of coordination of the natural environment, using the method of ecological restoration, artificial wetland is carried out to collect and purify the sewage.Finally, to try to make MeiXian town waterfront become one of the multi-functional comprehensive waterfront landscape, which featured by ecological restoration, entertainment and regional culture show, several aspects such as the materials, plant, building, shop, water and revetment are considered, different functional partitions are constructed, typically represented by increasing wetland education function, garage and pedestrian traffic system is planned, revetment landscape and vegetation planting is planned. These designs are implemented to improve the attraction of waterfront space and provide people a water front space which they can swim, have breathtaking views and relax themselves.
