When solving reliability problems of real structures, the limit state function is generally implicit because of its unbelievable complexity. With the theory of reliability, using finite element analysis is a very effective way to calculate the reliability and the failure probability of the structure. This thesis introduced the basic concepts of applying structure reliability analysis with finite element method, and analyzed detailed issues of these processes.First, the basic model and content of structure reliability was introduced. Based on this, the history and actuality of reliability was analyzed. Then, the basic methods of reliability analysis were introduced, such as Monte Carlo method, analytical methods, mixed method and random FEM method. Analytical methods include first order method, advanced mean valve method and response surface method. Then, based on the ideas of applying structure reliability analysis with finite element method, this thesis summarized some of the most valuable methods in engineering, such as Monte-Carlo method with FEM, response surface method with FEM and advanced mean valve method with FEM. Common software of reliability was introduced with an example of the using process. At the end of the thesis, we analyzed the reliability of real structures based on response surface method. The work includes impact analysis, pretension analysis, thread structure analysis, tolerance analysis, sub model analysis and so on.
