In this article, it is elaborated that microcomputer magnetic excitation system of the SCR in half–control bridge (HCB) type can turn to the reliability for the whole machine as well as the excellent performance. The following four aspects, which influence the whole machine performance of the magnetic excitation product of synchronous machine, are analyzed:the favorable design for the product,the technical performance optimization for the product,the design measures taken to prevent the exterior interference and the practical design and assignment for the control system.The particular technical performance of the microcomputer magnetic excitation is analyzed from the three main points.1.The start control circuit for the SCR in half–control bridge (HCB) type ,together with the accessional start resistance, is selected and allotted with reasons. Aim at achieving the best start performance, the start resistance is calculated in and well-designed for the different generator parameters.2.Select the best excitation angle for the microcomputer magnetic excitation after analyzing theoretic and practical induction electromotive force wave-form. That is to say switch-on the rectifier and input the magnetic excitation into the generator rotor, by using the excitation means that the rotor induces the reversed polarity end of the electromotive force, at the moment when induction electromotive force transforms from positive polarity to reversed polarity passing through zero. The generator can be easily dragged to synchronization when the asynchronous drive torque and the magnetic excitation torque works with one another. Selecting the excitation angle means much to the generator set which can start with load and reset the step at the time of losing step.3.The microcomputer is monitored by upper computer. They are emphasized, in the article, how to work out the initialization of the technical parameters and display of these parameters for the operation of the magnetic excitation equipment; how to the inquire all kinds of fault , give an alarm for the fault ,then record the fault. As a result, the network management of the microcomputer magnetic excitation can be carried out.The microcomputer magnetic excitation system has improved the stability of the excitation set and the performance of the synchronous machine...
