With the aged increasing rapidly in recent years, the residence problem of the elderly in China's urban area occurs. Therefore to improve the living environment of the elderly has become a common sense in the society, Under the influence of social development, with the changes taking place in the conception of taking care of the elderly and ways of living, the resident mode of the elderly in urban area has also changed as well, which urges our country to find a suitable way of living for the elderly.Through introducing the concept of Population Aging, this essay analyzes the nature and development direction of it, points out the present situation, urgency and particularity of China Building, especially resident building, is so closely linked with human being' living, and acts reciprocal with human being's physiological and psychological characteristic. Then, through analyzing characteristics of elder and investigating their demand of living facility, the author summaries the keys of condition that is suitable for elderly people in three facets-housing, surrounding and commonality facility.Furthermore, it discusses the perspective of the Elderly Residence Block, and tries to find a new way for them-that is to set up an Aging Yard in urban area. After these, this paper advances the research subject "Aging Yard " and expounds this subject in three aspects, which are the sustainable character of integrity, the sustainable character of space and the sustainable character of environment. Then, the possibility and its resident, as well as the functions of this mode are analyzed, On the basis of it, the planning, including the scale, location, layout and outside environment are discussed, thus to construct the form of Aging Yard.
