With the modification of Shanghai energy pattern, the use and development of natural gas steps into a brand new era. The application of natural gas is not only restricted to city gas consumers, but also expands to natural gas power plant, chemical industry, heavy industry and so on. Thus the natural gas demand will increase dramatically. In 2020, the proportion of natural gas power plant will be around 50% to 60% of total natural gas demand of Shanghai, while city gas consumption declines dramatically. The involvement of big consumers, such as natural gas power plant, does not only change the performing condition of pipeline system, but also makes the problem of the gas network development more serious. High pressure pipeline, high pressure spherical gasholder and LNG peak shaving station will be used together for peak shaving to assure normal safe gas supply. We should make dynamic simulation analysis of Shanghai high-pressure trunk networks in order to study the performance of pipeline network, peak shaving and gas storage issues. The thesis simulated the high-pressure trunk gas networks in Shanghai using Pipeline Studio to evaluate and forecast pipeline operations, on the base of the natural gas network develop plan and rapidly develop of the demand of all kinds of nature gas consumers. Various typical operating strategies were simulated, the operating flows and pressures of sources and consumers for each cases were compared. The method of raising the capability of pipelie network's gas storage was given though analyse the factors zinfluneceing gas storage and peak shaving of the pipeline and the process of gas storage in the pipeline network, the capability of the pipeline network are also discussed. The end, gives some conclusions, and some suggestions for further research were indicated.
