Study On Peak Shaving By LNG Gasification Station

Supply of the town gas is stability, while the use is not uniformity. As our country paysmore and more attention to protecting the environment, natural gas demand is increasingrapidly. So the imbalance between the natural gas supply and consumption is increasing. Inorder to solve the problem of natural gas peak modulation, it is impossible to construct peakshaving facilities and choose a reasonable load regulating mode. LNG is a gas supply airmaneuvers. How to use it as a natural gas peak modulation mode is being concerned.In this paper, natural gas pipeline network of Nan Xiong is chosen as the researchobject. The construction conditions of the natural gas pipeline system are analyzed,including gas source, social and economic environment, the demand for gas project. LNGgasification station is chosen as the transition gas source, while the west-east gastransmission pipeline is selected as the final gas source. The supply of all kinds of usersfor gas is calculated.Secondly, the joint use of LNG gasification station and high pressure gas pipe forpeak modulation is studied. The season, accidents and hour gas load scale are calculated.The natural gas peak modulation mode is chosen. When the pipeline’ diameter is designedas DN400, the operation rule of peak modulation is studied. It is proved that this way forpeak modulation is feasible and suitable for other gas project.Then, the natural gas application mode is determined. An LNG gasification stationand a natural gas door station will be constructed. The characteristics of gas load andparameters are analyzed. The main technology of pipeline network and the equipments inLNG gasification station and the natural gas door station are chosen.Finally, the influence and the benefit in environmental protection, energy saving andeconomic are analyzed.It is shows that LNG gasification station is a kind of effective way for peakmodulation.It is flexibility and security. The choice of the ways for urban gas peakmodulation will get guidance with the operation rule introduced in this paper.
