Research On Variant Design Technology Drove By Product Principle

Product variant design is a main method of enterprise serials design. Variant design can make enterprise have more competitiveness through improving product quality,shortening design cycle and improving marketed responsibility. Geometrical figures and dimension is researched object for traditional variant deign, it can't make topology structure change, and also can't ensure principle unchanged. In this paper, product principle is introduced into the process of variant design, function surface and variant design as tools to express principle. Product level and part level of variant design are studied on the basis of these theories. In the final, variant design system is developed and verified on the basis of model of horizontal directional driller(HDD).There are four parts be presented and studied in this paper:1. The process of variant design and modeling method is analyzed to find that variant design should be done between behavior space and structure space. The theory of function surface is studied, including proposing,defining,classifying function surface and building its model. Variant design semantic is studied at the same time, proposing three types of variant semantic, which can be used in different phases. Combining two strong points, variant design theory and its model are proposed based on the function surface and variant semantic.2. Main contents of principle is proposed, and main structure of principle is also analyzed, there are three parts: execution,transmission,fixation, the first and second parts are the key points.
