The research in this dissertation is part of the project of "Application and Digital Technology of Injection Machine Based on the Product Platform", which is the High Priority Subject of the Key Industrial Project of Zhejiang Province. The research studies on the modeling and variant design technology of part familis based on the SML, including geometric model, process document and NC document. Combined with the actual practice in the enterprises, the dissertation sets up a general frame of the modeling and variant technology of part family.ChapterⅠintroduces the research background, scope, object and the main research value of this dissertation, including modeling and variant technology of part family, variant design of process and numerical control.ChapterⅡis about the research on the system requirements of part families'modeling and variant design technology based on SML. Furthermore, this research develops a general design for the system, and introduces the general frame, connecting scheme, document transmission mode and route scheme.ChapterⅢresearches the geometry modeling and variant design technology. Under the packaged theory, the SML and three-dimensional CAD modeling is packaged by parameter extraction, parameter relation and current configuration-addition. The fast variant design is achieved and the detailed implementation process is demonstrated.ChapterⅣresearches the process modeling and variant design of part family, including using a new concept geometric feature process, introducing the part family information model, analyzing the key technology of the process of process-variant, designing the setting of the process of major document and variant design scheme.ChapterⅤresearches variant design and process and numerical control of part family following ChapterⅣmethods, developes a numerical control information model of part family and analyzes the application technology and the process of numerical variant.The last Chapter summaries and prospects to this dissertation.
