Research And Development Of Product Variant Design System Based On PDM And CAD Integration

Variant Design is one of the most effective technologies in fast product design in modern manufacture enterprises, which quickly responses to meet customer's requirements in implementing DFMC process. Differents from traditional CAD system and Variant Design system, the product variant design system researched and developed is based on PDM and CAD integration, which has developed into a master model design and fast variant design based on master models, developed into a master models and variant cases management system. It integrated technologies such as CAD, PDM, database, network, COM/COM+ automation. This paper deals with the key technologies of products variant design system bases on PDM and CAD integration.Chapter one expatiates the relation concepts, the content and key technologies of the system and the researching work done in this paper.Chapter two makes a detailed discussion in PDM(TiPDM) and CAD(Solid Edge) integration, included characters of PDM and CAD.data structure of CAD,structure of PDM database, logical objects of the PDM, the database design bases on PDM database which could save master models' information and data; data structure designed to describe the relation objects.Chapter three makes a detailed discussion in master model design method using tabular layouts of article characteristics technology, and analyses variant parameters transfer process of master model during variant design.Chapter four discusses the key technologies of master models' and variant cases' management.Chapter five discusses the main functions of the system and user's interface of the system.Then introduces the process of the system by a case.Chapter six summarizes the paper's researching work and innovation; the future research work is also suggested in the chapter, too.
