In order to guarantee the power devices running safely in power systems, it's very important to test the devices'insulation. High voltage capacitive-type equipment plays a very important role in power systems, and dielectric loss tangent is an important parameter to reflect its insulation condition. But existing dielectric loss test systems have a lot of shortcomings such as poor stability and expansibility, low precision and so on. Therefore, the study and development on the test system of dielectric loss has practical values.The design of dielectric loss test system based on SOPC is carried out in the paper, according to the analysis of existing systems and the development and application of SOPC. This design has many advantages such as high precision, good expansibility and flexibility.The theory of dielectric loss test system is introduced and existing systems are analyzed and compared in the beginning. Harmonic analytical method is the theory base of the design according to these analysis and comparison.
