The performance prediction method for the fan/compressor of aero-fan engine is an important technology within the design system of aero-engine. The splitter lip plays a significant role in fan/compressor system; the fan/compressor performance is affected by the change of splitter lip parameter. It has always been an empty how to predict the magnitudes and tendency of these effects. It is can be found from some information that research on influence of splitter lip need further strengthen within existing performance prediction method. So carrying on some research on fan/compressor performance with different splitter scale in order to obtain more accurate influence for splitter lip, and further understand fully the mechanism of the shape character of splitter lip how to affect the performance and flow field structure, finally get some adjust method for it. These works have significant value not only on theory but also on engineering application.A numerical method is presented in this paper to solve this problem. The routine developed and applied a S2 Stream-Surface Streamline Curvature Approach to calculate the fan/compressor performance, and the flow field around the splitter lip is found by first calculating the potential flow field along the splitter surface and subsequently by applying a turbulent boundary layer analysis. The potential flow field is found by applying a singularity method. A prediction program that can be useful to any splitter scale condition has been presented. Some performance prediction calculations have been processed through using these program, the results obtained show the performance characteristic is reasonable. Through adjusting initial parameters with different ways and calculating, some rules that the change of total mass flow and splitter scale how to affect the performance of fan/compressor are summed up. The comparison with some prediction results of mature three-dimensional CFD show that the precision of this prediction program can meet actual engineering requirement and can be a useful accessorial tool for fan/compressor design. In the next works, through theory analysis some methods to improve performance of compressor by adjusting shape character of splitter lip are obtained, and are validated by CFD.
