Along with the rapid development of the state economics, more and more electric power is needed. The high-capacity high-parameter power generating units are prevailing recently, the percentage of 600MW units is increasing, and the related automation systems are becoming more and more complicated. For improving the operators'skill and insuring the units operate more securely and efficiently, much attention is paid on the effects of power plant simulation systems.Based on the advanced simulation support system APROS, the full-scope dynamic simulation model of PINGWEI 600MW boiler system is developed and has already been put into operation. The methods of modeling and debugging with simulation support system APROS (which is developed by VTT and FORTUM engineering company of Finland) are studied at first.According to the characteristics of the equipments, liquid properties and running process, the boiler system was divided into several subsystems, so as to favor the modeling and debugging. Based on the analysis of these subsystems, the simulation models of these subsystems are developed and the encountered technical problems are analyzed and solved. With the field design, operation and other relative data, the purpose-built boiler simulation system for PINGWEI power plant is built. The relationship between the subsystems is considered to insure the integrity. For the lack of the modules for coal pulverizing system in APROS module library, the dynamic mathematic models of coal feeder, mill, and resistance of coal air mixture are built and made into dynamic link libraries with visual C++, and then they are transformed into APROS external modules. These external modules for coal pulverizing system are linked with the flow network and other modules of APROS, so as to form a full-scope coal fired boiler simulation system. The presented simulation results of the boiler running at full load, start up, shut down, load change, and some malfunctions, show that the developed boiler simulation system can well demonstrate the dynamic performances of the real utility boiler system.
